Description
ISBNs for books sold on the platform are available (but not required) to both members and non-members, free of charge. TOMC does, however, charge an administrative/registration fee for each ISBN. That fee is currently $5 for members and $15 for non-members. ISBN fees help pay our worker-owners for registering your work and number with Bowker. Note that the publisher on your book will be Trunk of My Car Cooperative, but if you are an owner-member, that means you. If you are not an owner-member, why not!? Questions? Concerns? Printing physical copies of your book? You might need/want a barcode. Barcodes are helpful when offering physical copies of your work in brick-and-mortar shops. Bowker, the ISBN agency for the US, issues barcodes attached to ISBNs. Their cost is $25. Barcodes are available through TOMC as an add-on to ISBN registration. Your physical book's ISBN must be registered through TOMC to obtain a barcode from TOMC. Note: Barcodes are not required but are available, if desired, for physical editions only. After submitting payment for your barcode, TOMC will provide your barcode within 24 hours. As we remit payment directly to Bowker for barcodes, refunds are not available.
